Opening Reception: Friday, January 19, 5:00 - 8:00 pm

Curated by Juana Williams

This exhibition features artists who have created their own interpretations of their experiences by working through their theories of nature and natural occurrences, while allowing nature to take a supporting role.  Paul Glabicki's work has been selected for the exhibition.

Paul Glabicki’s THE LIGHT drawing series and RELATIVITY series both tie seamlessly into the theme of the exhibition. THE LIGHT drawing series deals specifically with the concept of light in multiple forms. Glabicki deals with the physical form of light in science and art, as well as spiritual uses of light as in religion. He incorporates ways in which light is played with, filtered, manipulated, and arranged in conjunction with his own imagination to create lively drawings that examine how light is utilized and interpreted. This series relates to how the connection between humans and nature, and how we attempt to manipulate and utilize natural properties.

Glabicki’s previous RELATIVITY series is another drawing series that examines nature and natural occurrences. With a recognized aesthetic tone and the inspiration of Einstein’s theories regarding relativity, Glabicki fashioned his visual interpretation of scientific data and imagery he’s accumulated overtime. The importance of his work not only lies in representation but also in the process. Glabicki meticulously created these works by combining multiple influences and artistic techniques.
