Visiting Artist - Amy Newell

Amy Newell received her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1993 and her MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. She currently works as Curator and Studio Liaison for Tandem Press, a fine art print publishing company affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Newell travels around the country representing Tandem Press at national and international art fairs, such as The IFPDA Print Fair, Expo Chicago, INK Miami and the Baltimore Contemporary Print Fair. She has worked as Master Printer on projects with a variety of Tandem artists, including Judy Pfaff, Suzanne Caporael and Jim Dine.  Newell is also involved with the planning and preparation for Tandem’s annual fundraiser, The Tandem Press Wine Auction.

Newell is also the founder of Rigamarole Press, a letterpress and etching studio on the East Side of Madison, Wisconsin. Her work has been included in permanent collections such as The University of Dallas, Emory and Henry College, Johnson State College, Madison Children’s Museum and Kohler Art Library.
