Visiting Artist - Gluklya (Natalya Pershina)

Gluklya is a founding member of the collectives The Factory of Found Clothing, founded in 1996 (www.factoryoffoundclothes.org) and Chto Delat?, “What is to be done?”, founded in 2003 (www.chtodelat.org). Gluklya graduated from the Mukhina Academy of Art and Design and her work has been exhibited internationally including the VOLTA8, Basel (2012), MUMOK, Vienna (2012), Ostalgia at the New Museum in New York (2011), Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden Baden (2011), Shedhalle, Zurich (2011), SMART Project Space, Amsterdam (2011), Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid (2011), Kunsthalle, Vienna (2011), ICA, London (2010), Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (2011 & 2009), and the Thessaloniki Biennale (2009). On December 1st, GLUKLYA will be in residence with collaborator Emily Newman at the Mattress Factory, where they will be presenting The Kruzhok Pittsburgh project as part of ArtLab (“Kruzhok” translates as “circle” in Russian) - ArtLab hours are 1:00-4:00pm. 

Presented by the University of Pittsburgh’s Departments of Studio Arts, Film Studies, Slavic Languages and Literatures, and Center for Russian and East European Studies with Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Art.
