Widening the Lens: Photography, Ecology, and the Contemporary Landscape aims to raise renewed ecological awareness through visual representations of the environment, as seen through the photographic lens. This exhibition is organized by Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh and curated by Dan Leers, Curator of Photography, with Keenan Saiz, Hillman Photography Initiative project curatorial assistant. The exhibition’s presentation at Phoenix Art Museum is coordinated by Emilia Mickevicius, the Norton Family Assistant Curator of Photography at Phoenix Art Museum and the Center for Creative Photography. Artists’ Panel (Event)

Panel discussion with Melissa Catanese, Victoria Sambunaris, and Chanell Stone, whose works are featured in the exhibition. Emilia Mickevicius, Norton Family Assistant Curator of Photography, will moderate the conversation about how their work engages the exhibition's themes, from land use and its environmental impact to ancestral migration and nature as a memorial landscape.
