Right from the start, influenced by the atmosphere of the Arte Povera movement, Paolo Piscitelli has worked in a broad range of techniques and disciplines including drawing, sculpture, installation, digital media, phenomenological experimentation with materials and their interaction with time. His sculpture prioritizes a sustainable ecological practice and was developed also through traveling and teaching. His current work and research involve the use of simple hand-tools to carve small-scale sculptures assessed with the sight and touch.
Paolo Piscitelli already has exhibited internationally did many shows in private spaces like Studio Tucci Russo in Torre Pellice, and Galerie Paul Andriesse, Amsterdam, e/static, Turin, as well as in public spaces like Torino‘s GAM, Bologna’s GAM, the FRAC-Bourgogne in Dijon, the MLAC in Roma, Lawndale Art Center, Houston, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin and the Museum of Art in Denver.
